the long winter break
By: Ulf | December 31st, 2008With little to report with the start of the winter break the good news is that the club is close to returning to training so I felt it best to go over our schedule.
Werkself’s winter training will commence on January 3 with a six team indoor tournament in Dortmund which includes FC Köln, Borussia Mönchengladbach, BVB, VfL Bochum and Preußen Münster. On January 4, the will take part in the 2nd Rhineland Cup with FC Köln, Fortuna Düsseldorf, TuS Koblenz, St. Pauli and Alemannia Aachen before heading to winter training camp in Belek, Turkey. Things will heat up considerably with a match against Galatasaray on January 11 in the RADYOSPOR Cup, which is held in Antalya. Two days later they will face either Werder Bremen or Bursaspor in the same tournament. After friendlies scheduled against MSV Duisburg and TuS Koblenz in the third week in January, Werkself will face Energie Cottbus in the Round of 16 of the DFB Cup at LTU arena in Düsseldorf three days before Bundesliga action returns on January 31 against BVB.
