I do not know even what to say with three comments, jajaja.

I am happy with the win, Mainz are very disciplined style and I appreciate their energy level. It will be interesting if they stay in the playoff position right now and have to face Gladbach. That is an incredible race with Nürnberg and Kaiserslautern in the mix.

As far as today’s match I would rather face Bremen than HSV and “win” through but we’ll find out soon. I also do not like HSV workings so that is a hard one to say.

Tamim, I read your article on Amr Zaki and hope things work out for him. What do you think of Ahmed Khairy? I know he is being heavily scouted right now.

That was really very odd — the way Charisteas went down didn’t look in the least like an injury to me. He was gently pushed by his own goalkeeper, then stayed kneeling for twenty seconds or so and only then lay down flat on his back. In any case, having one player down (and a striker at that) doesn’t excuse the fact that there were four Mainz players unmarked when the cross came it.

At least Charisteas magically recovered instantly after the goal was scored. So you might also find it unethical that a player attempts to fake an injury to gain an advantage for his team.

I have to say that while Leverkusen fully deserved to win, due to Charisteas’ antics, they also deserved to win it over 120 minutes instead of 90.

Now if Bremen follow Leverkusen into the final we could have a real play-off for the Europa League spot. Although I presume Leverkusen fans will root for Hamburg, to improve chances for automatic qualification.

i was watchng the game by chance and i saw mainz goal; very unethical as they didn’t get the ball out for the injured player who was covering the offside; good thing that leverkusen won because if mainz did it would have been a problem!!
