bring on Energie Cottbus

By: Ulf | December 12th, 2008

With just tomorrows match against Energie Cottbus to play before the break, Bruno Labbadia has a perfect chance to stay within three points of first place of the table. Sitting near the bottom of the Bundesliga, Cottbus are fighting to survive relegation but have had difficulty playing against mid to upper table clubs. Bojan Prašnikar’s club has been unable to fell 3-0 to VfB, 4-1 Bayern, 3-0 to Wolfsburg and 2-0 to Schalke in their six most recent matches and have had only one positive result of a upper table side, that being Hertha BSC, in the first half of the season. In actual fact they have done well to earn the twelve points they have, gaining points against lower table points where they can but possess one of the worst defending records in the lead while finding the net only eleven times in the first half of the season.

It won’t get any easier for the visitors tomorrow as Leverkusen is reporting no injuries along with having Arturo Vidal back from suspension. Bruno Labbadia wants to conclude the first half on a positive not adding”

“We have to do everything to end the year on a high. Then we can preserve the good feeling in and around the club.”

Bojan Prašnikar has urged his club to be aggressive from the start but will need to do so without captain Timo Rost who is suspended.

This is a perfect match before the break as well as the final match at BayArena and should see Leverkusen win handily.
