big chance for Werkself
By: Ulf | February 21st, 2009Hamburg SV visit to Düsseldorf takes on even greater importance for Werkself now with both Bayern and Hoffenheim falling short of a win on Sunday afternoon. With a victory Leverkusen will pull within a top of the top spot.
Ahead of the match coach Bruno Labbadia said:
“HSV are very well organised and they have the ability to score goals from a few chances. They’ve got a lot of experienced players who have played at the top level of the game over a long period. We are behind HSV and are therefore the challengers. But we’re at home and, in spite of HSV’s strengths and the respect we’ve got for them ,we’ll be going out to get all three points from the game.”
Both Tranquillo Barnetta and Renato Augusto had injury problems during the week but both is expected to go. There is some question of whether Thomas Zdebel or Arturo Vidal will take the central midfield spot but the coach is giving few clues saying:
“There’s no need to make a drama out of a couple of games. As with many of the others, Arturo is a young player and we know what he’s got a lot to learn. But we mustn’t undermine his strengths. It’s important for us to have somebody in midfield who has other qualities than his fellow players.”
Of specific note, the bumpy pitch that was a problem during Germany’s recent friendly against Norway has been replaced.

I hope Leverkusen capitalizes on the Bayern and Hertha losses and Hoffenhaim tie. The Bundesliga really is turning out to be extremely exciting this year. HSV have a shot too dont they.

It sure is exciting isn’t it. Doesn’t matter where you are in the table the Bundesliga competition is the best. I hope you’ll be watching tomorrow. I’ll write my post as soon as I get back from the match.
